So no comments on the Wiki-Leaks ordeal?
You can start to read about here: http://afghanistan.blogs.cnn.com/?hpt=Sbin Or an overview here: http://wardiary.wikileaks.org/wiki/A...ary,_2004-2010 But what is odd is that the dedicated weblink that I visited earlier in the document above, now just takes you back to the overview page. The dedicated weblink showed some pretty interesting shit. Did someone put the kibbash on it? Will the Wiki-Leaks founder meet an untimely demise? Will the damn stinking war end soon now that we have more information? |

When I first heard that two more soldiers were missing, I immediately thought they were both dead.
Here is the update: http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapc...ex.html?hpt=T2 Now, when you read the article, note that the Taliban claimed the second soldier was alive and being held captive. Also note, this paragraph: "The government asked the local elders of the province to form a committee and talk to the Taliban in order to retrieve the missing sailor. Because of the negotiations with the elders, the Taliban gave the body back without submitting any demands, Darwish said." Why are we negotiating with the Taliban and not making examples of them? Also, follow up to the Wiki-leaks article: http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/29/wik...ex.html?hpt=T1 "Top military official: WikiLeaks founder may have 'blood' on his hands" Talk about some fucked up thinking. It's just too bizarre for words. Perhaps I am contradicting myself when I say that we should be over there wiping out the Taliban and then laughing at the government blaming Wiki-leaks for the bloodshed. Or perhaps I'm not. Am I the only one who thinks this is ludicrous? |

Are you one of those people who believes that whole "war on terrorism" line?

No. I'm one of those people who believe that we should have never ever gone to Iraq, and now the whole Afghanistan thing is a joke, and yet, our people are still dying.
Why? |

I do think Iraq was. Between the two, they'll make Vietnam look a bar brawl. |

The Iraq war was a success, actually ... it depends on point of view. For those who consider all the death and destruction to be an unfortunate (albeit necessary) side consequence of some noble goal, yes it's tragic.
For those who consider death and destruction an intended consequence, it was of course a grand success. |

But far be it from me to deprive anyone of their bliss, so I'm done with this topic.
Politics ... meh. |

I love it whenever the light of truth shines forth. The hard workers at Wikileaks are true heroes. I would note however, that the people they are up against are ( quite obviously) the most powerful in the world.
Brace your selves. They have been hurt and the backlash could surprise, shock and horrify you. |
